BABY BAROQUE FREE KIDS’ CONCERT!

Join NZ Barok (New Zealand's only period-instrument orchestra) and friends for a free, fun, dynamic one hour concert especially for children. “A Magical Day with Ruby May!” - hear the story of Ruby May, a little girl with a big imagination. Introduce the children in your lives to the beautiful sounds of baroque music! Wave a scarf to a minuet, shake a shaker to a march and enjoy a happy music-filled hour.
This concert is suitable for children aged 0-6 years.

Mangonui Lions Annual Fun Run
10.00am start at Mangonui School, Col Mould Dr, Mangonui. Finish at Coopers Beach Reserve, SH10, Coopers Beach.
Entry fee: $10 adults; $2 children.
Distances: 8km or 6km, with 2km Beach Run for the littlies.
This community event is designed to promote fitness in our district. The course is mainly road and footpath for 5km, then hard-packed beach for 1km, followed (for the 8km course) by 2km on a grass track in a reserve. The children will have a 2km Beach Run along Coopers Beach. There will be refreshments and Prizegiving at the conclusion at Coopers Beach Reserve.
Funds raised will go to Mangonui Lions Club’s community projects.

Lions District 202K Convention 2019
New Zealand Lions hold a Convention in each District every year. There are 7 Districts in New Zealand. 202K covers the Far North (including Whangarei), South Auckland, Coromandel, the North Island West Coast, Samoa, Nadi, Fiji and the Cook Islands. This year it is the turn of Mangonui and Kaitaia Lions to manage this event.

Far North Garden Safari
This year at Victoria Valley and Takahue area. There are many lovely gardens to visit. Refreshments and stalls will be at the safari headquarters at Pamapuria School on both days.
Tickets for the safari cost $25 and are available from usual outlets from 1 October..
A bus will be available on the Saturday leaving from the back of Te Ahu by 8.45am for $10.

Te Houtaewa Challenge - 90 Mile Beach Race
The Course is down 90 Mile Beach from the Bluff, where the Ultra Marathon and 5 Person relay starts. This is an ideal race on flat hard sand. The Marathon starts at Hukatere, the ½ Marathon Walk/Run starts at Waipapakauri Ramp and heads down to the finish at Pari Pari Domain.
