Matariki Exhibition 2018
Museum @ Te Ahu, Kaitaia
A wonderful Matariki Exhibition 'Tuia te kaka whatu te kakahu - Stories woven into cloaks' is currently on display. We have a collection of different types of kakahu (traditionally-made clothing) on display during the Matariki season.

We have lunchtime talks at Museum @ Te Ahu, orated by community curator, Awhina Goulton, and Museum Curator, Whina Te Whiu. The talks will be given twice a day from Tuesday 17th to Friday 20th July inclusive, from 12.00 noon to 12.45pm and from 1.00pm to 1.45 pm. All are welcome to come and learn more about these wonderful exhibits

Mangonui Lions Annual Fun Run
A fundraiser for Mangonui Lions Club community projects and to promote health and fitness in the community. This year the funds will go towards the conservation group 'Friends of Rangikapiti'.
The main events are 6km and 8km courses from Mangonui School to Coopers Beach, via Historic Mangonui Village and Mill Bay, with entry fee of $10 taken on the day.
As a Fun Run and Walk no times will be recorded, and spot prizes provided by local businesses will be given away; drawn by lot.
The short 2km course for children will be along Coopers Beach and entry is by gold coin donation on the day.
The 6km and 8km events start at 10am and the 2km at 10.45am.
