Dancing Petrel Wines

Dancing Petrel Vineyard is a boutique winery located on Paewhenua Island, nestled in the heart of Mangōnui Harbour in New Zealand’s Far North. Established in 2018 by Kim and Graham Gilkison, the vineyard benefits from a unique microclimate and north-facing slopes that provide excellent conditions for grape cultivation. The vineyard produces a variety of wines, including Arneis, Cabernet Franc, and Viognier, which have received high ratings from wine critics like Michael Cooper.

Visitors can enjoy wine tastings by appointment, offering a chance to experience the wines while overlooking the picturesque Mangōnui Harbour. The Gilkisons have also implemented sustainable practices in their vineyard management, focusing on soil health and biodiversity.
