Mangōnui Hotel 1905

The Mangōnui Hotel, sometimes known as the New Settlers Hotel, was the fourth and last of the hotels established in Mangōnui over a 63-year period. It was built in 1905-1906 by John Bray, then the proprietor of the Old Oak Hotel at the southern end of the village.

The Historic Places Trust of New Zealand considers the two-storeyed Mangōnui Hotel building to be the most beautiful old hotel in the country. It holds a Category One rating from the Trust.
